- Marriages and Deaths from Baltimore Newspapers, 1796-1816
- (Book - Genealogical.com) : No less than seventeen Baltimore newspapers were drawn on in the making of this compilation. The book began as a compilation of marriages and deaths from Baltimore's Federal Gazette, published in an unbroken run from its inception in 1796 through the year 1816. Recognizing that deaths and marriages reported in one newspaper did not always appear in other newspapers and seeking comprehensiveness, Mr. Barnes ultimately decided to include vital records from all Baltimore newspapers for this period--seventeen in all. The text consists of some 7,500 abstracts, identifying, at the very least, an additional 5,000 persons, mainly brides, parents, and relatives. -
- Marriages and Deaths from the Maryland Gazette, 1727-1839
- (Book - Genealogical.com) : The Maryland Gazette was published in Annapolis between the years 1727 and 1839. From its infancy it carried occasional references to marriages and deaths of Maryland citizens. Drawing on this unique resource, the text of Mr. Barnes' book consists of abstracts of approximately 3,000 marriages and deaths of Marylanders--not only from the Annapolis area but from the entire state. A surname index to brides, ministers, and others, including parents and relatives, serves as a guide to an additional 2,000 persons. -
- Paperclips: Selected Clippings from the Montgomery Sentinel [MD], 1900-1950
- (Book - Amazon.com) : From 1900 until 1950 the Austin sisters clipped selected items from the Montgomery Sentinel newspaper and saved them in two notebooks. These were supplemented with announcements and obituaries from the compiler's collection and arranged chronologically. Where available, additional information has been supplied, such as name of cemetery, names of parents and maiden names. The types of entries include death notices, obituaries, birth announcements, wedding announcements, school graduations, teaching position listings, and local event announcements. The entries are mostly about Montgomery County, Maryland, with a few about neighboring areas, i.e. Washington, D. C., Frederick and Baltimore. Names within each entry which are bolded have been indexed and maiden names have been cross indexed. 2002, 738 pp., 2 vols., 8.5x11, index, paper.
